Oh the redwoods aer so beautiful

What a great drive in "The Avenue of the Gaints." If you haven't visited the California redwoods it's a must see. Jim and I have Toby, Cory and JoJo with us they are our furry kids. We are relaxing tonight in our Motel which is a nice place for dogs to stay.

We stopped and took the kids to play in the eel river. This was a first for them and Toby and Cory loved the river. But, JoJo wasn't so keen on the water he stayed on the shore and watch all of us in the water. JoJo does hotels and spas not motels and rivers geezzzzzzzzz there always has to be one that's different. We lov'em all no matter what their likes and dislikes are.

The kids are out cold next to me while I am writing after their long long day. Jim's enjoying the big cozy chair in the room. One more walk outside for the kids and we out for the night!

One last note we stopped at a gem and mineral shop and I purchased some minerals to tumble when I get home. I can hardly wait to see how they turnout. I have nevada turquoise, agate, opaque opal and jasper to tumble when I get home. It will be fun to see what I can design after the are tumbled and polished. OK I am off to walk with kids and enjoy the evening...

Ahhhh, but I think she ought to be proud that's a lot of livin! But then her better half has a big one too...Jacky boy turns 85! He's OK with me mentioning his age you'd never guess their ages if you saw them.

Party, Saturday to celebrate the 2 birthdays. I am excited about see family I haven't seen in years. Our furry friends are a little bummed out since they don't get to go to the party. They love Grandma and Grandpa all you have to do is mention their names and the ears go up and the smilers are smiling. We'll just have to share the pics with them!

Oh what a day with Jimmy and our furry friends...

Up early and off with the furry kids for bagels and a road trip! Our furry kids are 3 American Cocker Spaniels. We tell them we are going on a field trip and they get all excited. After the bagel and soda stop we head to the coast.

I was determined to have the kids go to a beach, see the ocean and get their furry paws cooled off in the water. It wasn't the easiest thing to find a beach the boys could play on. On Hwy 1 we found a beach access area with only a couple people so we stopped. This is the place for us and off to the beach we go. The boys names are from oldest to youngest is Toby (the Brut), Cory (little tuff stuff) and JoJo (social butterfly) they had the time of their lives.

We leashed them up and walked to the beach. Once we were away from the Hwy and people we unleashed the boys and off they ran. Toby and Cory ran to the water until a wave came at them scared them a little. They got their feet wet and ran along the shore with their ears flappin and big smiles on their faces. JoJo was a little different he wasn't so excited to see the waves coming towards him. He stood back and watched his brothers and Dad. He didn't need to get any closer to the water but he loved the beach! This was a first for the boys and their smilers were really waggin and their tongues were hangin.

After hangin awhile at the beach it was time to head out and find some munchies...lunch for the humans and snacks for the boys. We stopped in Capitola and enjoyed lunch in a Deli/Bakery what a business it was booming. Good food and great company with my sweetie. We finish lunch and back in the car to head home. As you can see by the pictures they had a good time! The first picture is Cory doing a little sunbathing. The 2nd pic is of all 3 boys Cory in the front, JoJo on the left and Toby on the right.
Back at the house after a kool field trip with the family it's time to do some designing. Jewelry time working on soldering some hoops for some kool 3-D earrings. I am working to finalize my hoops so I can get them out on my website at http//twyla.artfire.com. I have a lot of new jewelry to get on my site and will be working on it the next couple of days. Make sure to drop by and see my new designs and let me know what you think.

I had a fabulous Saturday with Jimmy (my honey), Toby, Cory and JoJo I am off to rest for another big day tomorrow. Come back and see what all the talk is about...

OMG it's been over a month since I have blogged!

Where in the heck does time go...
I enjoyed lunch today with my daughter and my Mom. In the course of our meal Kristy, my daughter tells me she looks at my blog all the time and there hasn't been any news lately. Oh, she is so right I am trying to get back on track. So here I am writing again to my friends and anyone else reading.

The most exciting news I have to share is the Bead Trends Magazine May Issue is out in print and I am the Designer Highlight Lynda Geidl (a.k.a. Twyla of Twyla's Designs). Now's the time to buy Bead Trends to see my beautiful designs. There are 10 pages displaying 6 different pieces of jewelry. They have done a fabulous job of photographing my designs and I am very pleased with the published article and photos. When you are near a Barnes and Noble, Michael's or other book or craft stores look for Bead Trends.

I have requested the files to post on my website but that will probably take a few weeks to have the files sent to me. As soon as I receive them I will blog to share the news so anyone can go to my website to see my publication.

I am off the computer for the evening and will be busy tomorrow. Come back and check my blog I have a BIG day tomorrow and I will share it tomorrow evening hopefully with a picture!

Please vote for my Puppy...

I have submitted a picture of Sophie my very first puppy in a photo contest with the local paper. Please check her out and vote for Sohpie I have included a link to the site http://yourviews.contracostatimes.com/mycapture/photos/FImage.aspx?ImageID=509298&EventID=261258&CategoryID=26656&CollectionID=0&Sort=

She is enjoying lunch with us in Carmel California. Her thought...if she could only have a drink of that "coke". How can you not vote her as the cutest! We no longer have Sophie she became very ill and we had to put her down. The memories I have of her are wonderful and they put a smile on my face whenever I think about her.

It's only because of Sophie we have 3 American Cocker Spaniels today. And if it was only up to me we would have 4, 5, 6 and more. But, then I go out to clean up the yard I remember why there are only 3 at this time. I am writing with JoJo our youngest on my lap he is such a cuddlier. He is nudging me now for a little more attention...I guess I better go and give him more love and attention. Please come back to visit and share your links with me!

My Slugger and his Assistant...

Another great day with my DH up early and down to the local bagel shop for coffee, bagel and conversation! Then off running our chores and spending the day together.

In the afternoon we watched our grandson play in a baseball game. OMG are those 7 year old kids great players. I have never seen kids hit the ball so far at such a young age. Then on top of that they can catch the ball, throw it and make fabulous plays. Here's a pic of my slugger....
and his assistant....
I finished my newest creation of earrings. They are interlocking hoops with I love dogs sterling silver charm and Swarovski crystals dangling in the middle of the hoops. I will have pics up soon on my site at http://twyla.artfire.com if you see them let me know what you think.

Getting Started

Here I go...it's time to share my stories. It's Friday night and I finally sat down to get a blog started. I haven't written one in the past and now I am ready to share with others what's up in my life. I guess as we get older we realize life is short and nows the time to talk or it may be to late.

I have chosen to talk by writing my own blog and hopefully sharing it with friends I meet on my journey. So please if you read this add a comment or two and come back to visit any time. As they say the more the merrier so I hope to see more...
